Crypto Audit Services and Indicative Fees

Our approach combines efficient use of technology with the independent verification required by auditing standards. Where secure API access is available, our audit team can obtain and analyse accounting and trading information directly, reducing manual data extraction and making the audit process more efficient.

Even when records are complete, well organised and presented accurately, we remain responsible for independently validating the information and obtaining sufficient audit evidence.

Our fees examine the following factors before being determined:

 • frequency trading (algorythmic trading is applied) - depending on the number of transactions per day;
 • number of API integrations with the client’s bespoke platform, if any or with all available exchanges;
 • integrations with exchanges or brokers and hedging resources;
 • secure API access to the client’s back-office platform;
 • access to complete daily trading and profitability records;
 • organised, reliable and dependable information from reputable exchanges or prime brokers;
 • no self-custody wallets;
 • disclosure by the brokers of all wallets associated with the company;
 • minimal and transparent use of wallets for the company’s own purposes; and
 • limited specialist work to trace cryptocurrency flows and verify wallet balances, control and ownership.

API access should allow our team to review daily trading activity, profitability and other information required as the audit progresses.

What May Affect the Final Fee?

Crypto audit fees depend on the complexity, scale and risk profile of the company’s activities. The principal factors include:

 • Transaction volume: Higher volumes create larger populations from which audit samples must be selected and tested.
 • Number of integrations: Each additional platform, exchange or broker may require separate data extraction, consolidation and testing procedures.
 • Custody structure: Assets spread across centralised exchanges, on-chain wallets, off-chain arrangements or multiple custodians increase audit complexity.
 • Wallet activity: Extensive or unclear wallet movements may require additional tracing, ownership verification and blockchain analysis.
 • Token valuations: Additional work may be required where net asset valuations involve more than five different tokens.
 • Specialist data services: Paid API or blockchain analytics services may be required to obtain AML indicators, risk data or blockchain records, particularly where annual transaction volumes exceed 10 million.
 • Quality of records: Incomplete, inconsistent or unreliable information may require additional reconciliation and investigation.
 • Trading complexity: Highly sophisticated or significant algorithmic activity may require extensive involvement from our crypto specialis team.
 • The quoted range: Assumes that specialist tracing and validation work will remain limited. If fieldwork identifies significant additional work—particularly in relation to daily trading volumes, profitability, wallet activity or custody arrangements—we will discuss the matter promptly and agree any necessary fee revision transparently.

Exceptionally complex or high-risk algorithmic trading engagements may result in fees above the indicative range and, where extensive specialist work is required, our audit fees will increase significantly. Conversely, where crypto activity is limited and the audit is less complex than anticipated, the fee may be reduced significantly.

02

A Transparent and Proportionate Approach

We recognise that efficient systems, dependable records and secure API access can substantially reduce the work involved. Our fees are therefore designed to remain proportionate to the actual volume, complexity and audit risk identified.

Our objective is to establish the expected scope at the outset, maintain open communication throughout the audit and raise any potential fee implications as early as possible.

The audit risk and level of responsibility may also be affected by factors such as:

 • a high frequency of daily trades;
 • significant turnover and profitability; and
 • ownership by three independent parties rather than a single shareholder.

All fees are indicative and remain subject to confirmation following our initial assessment of the company’s systems, trading activity, custody arrangements and reporting requirements.
