Good morning! I hope you are doing well.

We charge the service of a Residence Permit for Euro 600 + VAT (yellow slip), and this is a one off payment fee.

This is mandatory to be able to live here for more than 90 days per annum and for employment purposes. It takes approximately 1-2 weeks to be examined.

There are clients who also request a Tax Residency Certificate. The charge for the Tax Residency Certificate is Euro 600 +VAT, a one off payment. This takes approximately 1,5 months to be issued.

Please bear into account that you cannot apply for 2025 in 2025. You can apply for the 2025 Tax Residency from January 2026 onwards.

You will be requested to show rental agreements, tickets of entry to CY, bank statements showing movements in CY, etc.

You can be a Cyprus taxed resident if you spend at least 60 days in Cyprus and no more than 183 days in any other country OR if you spend at least 183 days in Cyprus (during a calendar year).  The certificate can be issued during the year but it depends who asks you to issue it and what is the purpose (you can not issue it because you want to have it for your records for example). Has someone requested this from you or not?

Haven’t found an apartment yet just arrived in Cyprus yesterday. You will need to find a place to rent (or acquire) and provide the relevant evidence (rental agreement, electricity or water bills under your name etc) for the purposes of the yellow slip issuance (which is mandatory to have so that you will be able to stay in Cyprus for more that 90 days per annum).

You need to show that you have a fixed or adequate income from employment outside of the Republic or from other legal sources.

Also why is ticket into the country important? The Cypriot authorities need to track the days you spend in and outside of Cyprus so that they ensure that you can be considered as a Cyprus taxed resident. In addition, this affects the residence permit (yellow slip) requirements. To be honest, the immigration office doesn't really check this (they can if they want to), it is more often for the tax department to request such evidence.
