Kyriakos Tramountanellis x / Thursday, March 17, 2022 / Categories: Cyprus Company Tax, Cyprus Company Governance, Relocation to Cyprus Cyprus- Entry Requirements for Ukrainian war refugees Cyprus has taken almost 3000 Ukrainian refugees based on the ministry of Exterior announcement. More details for the entry requirements of the Ukrainian to Cyprus can be found on the official website of the Ukrainian embassy in Cyprus. The Labor Ministry of Cyprus is considering express work-permit procedures for such nationals in a bid to also help them financially. Below are the documents that the refugees are required to get a temporary working permit. However, the procedure will change for Ukraine citizens due to the situation that brought them to Cyprus in the first place. 90 days Free Pass in Cyprus: Ukrainian citizens wishing to visit Cyprus and holding a biometric passport do not need a visa to visit and stay in Cyprus for up to 90 days. If they do not have a biometric passport, they can apply to the Consular Section of the Embassy in person, or through a travel agent, to obtain an entry visa. For a period of stay of up to 90 days, the pro-visa arrangement is valid, which can be done electronically, through the corresponding link on Cyprus embassy website here. The application must be submitted no earlier than 3 months and no later than 3 days before coming to Cyprus. EU Activates the Protection Directive: The Directive ensures that the refugees will have access to housing and medical assistance and will be granted to war refugees without having to go through lengthy asylum procedures. In Cyprus only 9 people are asking for asylum, most of the expatriates want to rent an apartment and are asking for work permits to be able to work and support their families. Work Permit Procedure Cyprus: The procedure for the work permit didn’t change for Ukraine citizens. We strongly advised the war refugees to check here for any updates. The work permit required documents are as follows: Required documents: Application on forms M.58 and M.64 A photocopy of foreigner's passport A clean criminal record certificate of the foreigner Medical certificates of the foreigner A Bank letter of guarantee for 200-500 EUR , depending on the country of origin of the foreigner, to cover possible repatriation expenses, valid for six months after the expiration of the work contract A work contract, stamped by the Department of Labour of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance and stamped with a revenue stamp from the Revenue Stamps Registrar. A fee of 20 EUR for submission of application We anticipate that the above procedure will be more flexible for war refugees, please contact us to inform you for any updates.
